BEYOND THE PALING FENCE

Another talented Victorian to add to the list. Darren has made his mark through the talent quest arena with wins like Victorian Champion of Champions, but this album suggests he’s definitely mover on and up from that stage.
Plenty of originals here from Darren’s pen (eight in all), including one that is becoming a
trademark for him, the topical Two Farms, that hits radio this month.
The songs on this album are a mixture – acoustically based because they are representative of
his A Taste Of Downunder live show, with a little musical help from producer Geoff Peterkin
and his cohorts in the Breakers band.
Standouts include the title track, Take The Back Road, and an beaut acoustic cover of the Peter Allen classic Tenterfield Saddler.
This young man is a strong songwriter and excellent vocalist, and with news just through that he is finalist in Star Maker next January, his career is definitely on the upward spiral.
