BILLY BRIDGE epitomises the new breed of independent country artists taking over the Australian industry. He has a level of energy, enthusiasm and determination that will carry him a very long way. This album reflects Billy’s diverse and appealing musical range. There’s everything from classic drinking and partying songs (I Drink for Pleasure, Who’s Been Drinking My Beer) to touching ballads like The Richest Man and Pizza For One. While he writes a great up-tempo song — as evidenced by the catchy Little Miss Understood — Billy’s true talents lie in being able to capture and communicate profound emotions. That comes through loud and clear on two of the album’s standout tracks, Everything I Needed to Say, written in memory of his dad, and If It Hadn’t Felt Like Rain - a powerful ballad with a twist, and some echoes of GARTH BROOKS at his best. Billy’s more than doing OK on this album — he’s hit the nail right on the head.
