KYLIE SACKLEY – Searching For The Sound
The current New Talent Golden Guitar winner, and 2001 Toyota Star Maker winner has kept a fairly low profile on the local scene since January, despite seeing her second single in a row — the smoky Never Give Up On Love — reach the number 4 spot on the country charts. It followed the Golden Guitar-winning Love’s Like A Train into the Top 5. But Kylie’s got the big picture firmly in mind. She wants to be internationally recognised for her talents, and — like Keith Urban before her — is willing to put in the time, effort and hard yards to ensure it eventually happens. "I’m in Nashville for two and a half months this time, and I’ve got two of my sisters with me for the first part of the trip, which is a real blast," Kylie said. "Just being here is so inspiring. I love that you don’t have to go far down the road to hook up with one of a million talented musical types — it makes working on this craft a whole lot more accessible and convenient. What I love about this town is that you have the opportunity to work seven days a week, write all the time and develop your skills on the musical front. I guess that’s why the level of talent is so great over here." Kylie spent three months in Nashville earlier this year, establishing contacts and connections with industry figures — recording, publishing and promotional people — and also artists.
