Ricky’s band Kentucky Thunder features some of bluegrass music’s top players including Bobby Hicks (fiddle), Andy Leftwitch (mandolin and fiddle), Paul Brewster (guitar), Jim Mills (banjo), Darren Vincent (guitar and vocals), Mark Fain (bass), and of course Ricky Skaggs leading the band and these days concentrating on his mandolin playing and singing in the true traditional Monroe style. Tracks include Shady Grove, Dim Lights Thick Smoke, Sawin’ On The Strings, Your Selfish Heart, Rollin’ In My Sweet Baby’s Arms plus a host of other great songs. Road To Spencer is a catchy Skaggs original and has an Irish flavor to the tune with whistle, bodhran, fiddle and banjo. All tracks are first class. Another super album from Ricky Skaggs.
