FEEL THE WAY – The Long Weekend
THE LONG WEEKEND
On Feel The Way (Laughing Outlaw) this is a pop/country/folk hybrid ably captured by ex Things Of Stone And Wood member Greg Arnold who produced and engineer Chris Dickie) who has worked with Kasey Chambers and the Dave Matthews Band).
The Long Weekend are more in the tradition of Australian pop balladeers such The Go-Betweens, The Triffids or Paul Kelly rather than country with a capital C but with the expansionary recent work of Kasey Chambers and others this album could sit in a collection next to any of our more contemporary mainstream Country artists and songs such as the catchy Love To You could easily be played on Country radio. Certainly a high quality album with some very fine melodic songs and a depth that demands considerable plays to explore the nuances.
