She's a talented singer/songwriter who sits in that indefinable folk/country mould, and like others similarly tagged is an eloquent writer with real stories to tell, and a lovely pure vocal style to reinforce the songs.
Themes of the songs are strongly Australian, with a focus on the environment, and also contain a number of indigenous influences.
The title track and first radio single is a standout, and also the anthemic Songs Of Australia and the beautifully descriptive Acacia Breeze demand the repeat button.
Reading the biography, this is a lady who can write from experience as the wife of a Mallee farmer, and it certainly shows.
This is a real listening album where you can close your eyes and visualise the pictures that Jeanette paints.
