Duke Wilde wins Battle of the Bands
 The Duke Wilde Band (pictured) from Gympie, Qld, has taken out Tamworth Country Music Festival's 2010 Coca-Cola Battle of the Bands competition.
Second place went to the Bob Corbett Band from Maryville, NSW, and third to The Freibergs from Durack, Qld.
Other contenders were Adoniis (from Brisbane, Qld), Amber Joy Poulton & The Holy Men (from Semaphore, SA) and the Mickey Pye Band (from Oberon, NSW).
All finalists receive a subscription to Capital News, Australia's number one country music magazine.
Hands of Fame Park in Tamworth has been home to the Coca-Cola Battle of the Bands competition since 2006 where the inaugural winner was the Aaron Daniels Band from Narre Warren South in Victoria.
In 2007, the winner was President Roots from Victoria's Mornington Peninsular, 2008's was from Marrickville in Sydney Craig Morrison Little Cowboys – and last year, the winner was Ruckus from the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Calling all Australian country music bands!
 The search for Tamworth Country Music Festival’s greatest band is on.
The famous Festival’s fifth Coca-Cola Battle of the Bands competition is calling all bands, trios and duos to enter to compete for the title of “2010 Coca-Cola Battle of the Bands winner”. The winning band will receive a cash prize in addition to “bragging rights” with cash prizes also for second and third places.
In 2010, Coca-Cola Battle of the Bands heats are being held Monday 18th to Friday 22nd January, daily at 3pm, with the Final playoff starting at 3pm on Saturday 23rd January at Coca-Cola Park (Hands of Fame Park).
Bands entering “the Battle” will be invited to play for 30 minutes each, allowing the judges and audiences to fully appreciate their repertoire with the winning band from each day’s heat invited to return on the Saturday to compete in the Grand Final.
The winner of the inaugural Battle in 2006 was the AARON DANIELS BAND who hailed from Narre Warren South in Victoria. In 2007 was PRESIDENT ROOTS from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsular. 2008’s winner was from Marrickville in Sydney CRAIG MORRISON LITTLE COWBOYS and in 2009 the winner was RUCKUS from the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
