G'day Folks
This past month has been an absolute blast! It started with a TROY CASSAR-DALEY tour of WA & NT and I returned just in time to celebrate my daughter Xanthe’s first birthday. Shortly after, I packed my suitcase and was off again, this time to the CMA Festival in Nashville TN. It was hard to believe I was standing in the Country Music Capital of the world, and what was more exciting was I actually had a gig there and I have to say being my first international performance I was quite nervous. The Global Artist Showcase I was a part of went off with out a hitch and having an entourage of Aussie's in the crowd made me feel right at home, I'll remember that moment as long as I live!
I was so inspired seeing artists I have admired for so long playing the songs I love; acts like ALAN JACKSON, TIM MCGRAW, LADY ANTEBELLUM, DIAMOND RIO, JOE NICHOLS, ANTHONY SMITH, KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS, NEIL MCCOY, DAVID NAIL, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, REBA MCENTIRE, MIRANDA LAMBERT, JOSH TURNER, the list goes on!
But I have to say the highlight of my trip was spending close to a whole day with none other than KEITH URBAN!! I had the privilege of hanging out with KU for well over an hour on his tour bus just talking about home, family, inspirations, guitars and of course the benefit of carrying the Star Maker title and what great things it can do for your career IF you commit yourself. He then invited me to sound check to meet the band and watch how they do things over there but I didn't expect he would hand me his guitar and let me play it through 50,000 watts... word's cannot describe the energy that came off that guitar when it was over my shoulder! I was in heaven! Keith also introduced me to legendary producer TONY BROWN who was the piano player for ELVIS and produced artists like GEORGE STRAIT and VINCE GILL. Once sound check was done he gave me a Backstage Pass for the LP Field Stadium concert and said come back and hang out later on... Someone pinch me!
The next day I flew home and had two days off with my girls before leaving on tour with Troy again in western NSW to finish up in Sydney for the filming of his live DVD.
I feel so blessed right now!
